Is a Mazda American made or is it imported? What kinda of engine is it?
what does it have to do with Ford?

It's Japanese.

Go wiki search for Mazda.

It'll take less time than trying to explain it, and less time than it took you to ask the question in the first place.

Mazda is a Japanese automaker. The automaker does have a north american production plant in Flat Rock Michigan. Ford has owned as much as 33.9% of it. Some mazda's and Ford's share the same basic platform, although the finished product has a different outward appearance and name.

Your engine question is vague. The engine type depends on the year and model of the car. Mazda has a long tradition of "alternative" engines, which include the Wankel rotary engines of the RX 2,3,4,7,8.
But they also use traditional Piston engines. Mazda will eventually release plug in hybrids, and hopefully hydrogen powered cars.
