I am getting my A.A. in general Ed. and am going to transfer to one of the three local universities for a B.S. in Social Science. I have always been a firm believer in doing what you are passionate about and for me it's Social Problems that effect people. Well the University of West Florida has a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with Majors in Children and Society (Includes Teacher Cert. to teach HS level), Diverse Studies and Nature and Society. I am very interested in the Diverse Studies!! That is exactly the degree I am seeking!! One problem though. What careers can I possibly do with a degree like this? I have always want to do some sort of social work or something in that ball park, but would I even be qualified? Please help me out! I need some Ideas or I will likely end up changing my major to something not as interesting to me and my passions. Any suggestions or advice is GREATLY appreciated! Thank you all in advanced!

The real qualification for social work, should be a desire to help people, not what degrees you hold...
Simple as this may seem, I think you should decide where you want to work, rather than where you can work, and ask what qualifications are required...
Family Services would be a good fit, as would the same job in a religious organization....
