...the "showbiz of politics"? Look up Gerald Celente if you don't know what what I'm talking about.
Everything we hear in politics is smoothed over to look and sound nice but never has anything in the way of substance or value. Elimination of this "political drama" and all of the photo ops, talk show sound bites, news sound bites, red carpet roll-outs, and most of all campaigning for office based on demagogy and shaking hands with babies can only be best for people's health in the long term. Why not subject leadership to real scrutiny, like paper tests, oral defenses, candid round table discussions with peers, over a period of like 20 years at least. Then we might have some chance at having true leadership instead of camera-happy fools.
