Sometimes you ‘just’ need to describe the morning:
Silence Silenced
by Elaine Polin
Dawn struggles with fog
again defeats the night
relentless rain drumbeats
on mist-clouded windows
wild winds howl their defiance
as Ocean rises to meet them.
Whoopee cuddles close
purring, comforted by arms
holding the trusting creature
Kubalek plays Brahms
his piano notes sweet
accompaniment to Nature’s show.
Though you are not here
life can yet be good.
