A Plea To Ocean
This day, my Ocean, sing to me
In soft, clear tones, poetically,
Make known your presence through the night,
Your ebb and flow when out of sight.
With gentle voice, please call me near,
All vengeance gone, erasing fear,
As you in splendor sing again
So I may enter your domain.
Oh, would that it be ever thus
That I be free from mortal dust,
And with your waters I might meld
Throughout Eternity, be held.
This day, my Ocean, sing to me
In soft, clear tones, poetically,
Make known your presence through the night,
Your ebb and flow when out of sight.
With gentle voice, please call me near,
All vengeance gone, erasing fear,
As you in splendor sing again
So I may enter your domain.
Oh, would that it be ever thus
That I be free from mortal dust,
And with your waters I might meld
Throughout Eternity, be held.
