What is your opinion about the 2 jeep wranglers?

Where do you live?? (rhetorical) There's not many places that NEED a rubicon. I'm not a hard-core 'jeeper', and I don't 'tinker'. I drive.
I personally would go with the '09. BUT- you have the choice to make.
What are YOUR needs? wants? Are the bigger tires more important than the warranty? The Rubicon (imho) is really a waste for most people-except for heavy-duty 4 wheelers/mountain climbers.

besides, ELECTRIC GREEN???? :-)

I'm going to purchase a Jeep wrangler next week and I'm stuck between 2. I was looking at a brand new 2009 wrangler x soft top, 6 speed for $18,875. Or a 2004 Jeep wrangler rubicon 5 speed with 58k miles with the soft top for $16,000. I haven't tried to negotiate the price on the 2004 but the only reason I was really interested in it is because it is electric green and they don't make the color anymore.

What would you do and what would you pay for the 2004 if you would negotiate the price on it.

I would try for the '04 model. It still has the inline 4.0L engine, where as the '09 has the V6. Also, the '04 is the Rubicon model, and that appeals to me personally. $16K is a bit much, I would try to swing a deal. My payment on the Jeep would depend on condition.

no question, go for the 09, never buy a used when you can buy a new one for only 3 K more...
