What is your general opinion of Family Guy?

I like Family Guy (enough to buy the DVDs as well as seeing it on TV),but yeah, like any series I enjoy,it has its flaws....
I've never found the "Chicken Fight" cutaways funny, they tend to make cutaway jokes too long and weird rather than funny, and they repeat themselves too much...I admit,I also didn't like the ending to the "Disney Universe" segment of the "Road to the Multiverse" episode, not so much because they said Walt Disney was an Anti-Semite (which is blatently untrue, much like saying he was frozen when he died),but because they've used the same "joke" before in at least two episodes (in one episode,Brian says Walt Disney was an outspoken Anti-Semite,and in another, after being unfrozen Walt asks "Are the Jews gone yet?")....

That said,it's not really meant to be taken seriously,it's just a show to watch when you need a good laugh (preferrably at someone else's expense)...

I enjoy it. Not as much as when it had actual decent storylines and the occasional heartwarming moment, but even the worst episodes have me busting a gut at one point or another.

I like it, and it's one of my (if not my favorite) shows. I like a balance of male and female shows, and this is one of the male shows I like. It's funny, and since I agree with most of the "views" I don't get turned off by the undertones.

Well, I'll be blunt here and now. I do enjoy Family guy myself.

It can be funny at times, The Road To (Insert country here) episodes are fun to watch and I do like the musical numbers and the Giant Chicken fights.

But as people noted, there are tons and tons of problems with it. For one, the series makes too much use of recycled gags, another is that alot of the eps are just stating someone's (in this case, Seth McFarlane, the show's creator) opinion.

And from looking at an animation standpoint, the current seasons look badly animated, almost like a cheap flash animation. Whereas the earlier seasons (1-3) actually showed at least some effort.

I noticed more gags being re-used in last season a lot and like I've stated in a few FG threads the way the were presented seemed rather forced.

Other than Cleveland's Bathtub gag I have not noticed anything being re-used or at least not yet this season.

To be fair, this is also true of The Simpsons. Every year that show just gets stiffer and stiffer, which is a shame because the show used to have moments of truly snappy animation.

To be fair, it does have a slight advantage over Family Guy, but like you said, it is somewhat stiff, but at least you see Akom and Rough Draft show some effort in the show.

Unlike Sunwoo (and Yeson, the sub-company of Sunwoo and animation company of Family Guy), who seem more intent on creating even worse animation then Hanna Barbara (though to be fair as well, Fairly Odd PLarents also suffers from Sunwooititus- An acute case of bad Sunwoo/Yesson animation *And I just came up with it too, I'm actually surprised myself*).

I don't hate Family Guy but I don't like it as much as I used to.

Ever since they brought the show back after it got cancelled, it hasn't been as good. I also think the show hasn't been as good because McFarland has other shows to work on. The show has gotten more stupid and is shown way too much now. They show Family guy on Fox, Adult Swim, and TBS.

Family Guy overkill......
