What is wrong with my flash drive?

My Tribeca flash drive holds 256 MB, and I use it for my digital picture frame. It's worked fine up until tonight, when I was trying to put pictures on it this weekend. It wasn't letting me put pictures in because it thought it was full, so I made a new folder on my hard drive and put all of my pictures there. They added up to around 150 MB. It wouldn't let me copy those over, so I went to my flash drive, and it said there was 800 KB available - which I know is not the case, as it is empty. What is wrong with the stupid thing?
 
After you put your pictures on your computer did you delete the files off your flash drive?
