1994 Ford Thunderbird LX w/ Automatic transmission
The car jolts when I let off the gas, or when I give it gas from time to time. Occasionally it jolts when shifting gears. I thought it might be the transmission, so I had it looked at. The transmission place said my transmission is fine. After a while, the car began to lose compression and I had a check engine light. I took it in, and there were 4 engine codes, all were related to "lean" and "rich" mixtures. They replaced my mass airflow sensor, and recommended my O2 sensors be replaced. I cannot afford that right now, and highly doubt they are the reason for the jolts. After the work was done, the car is still jolting, however it hasn't lost compression. I have put a lot of money into this car so far, and it is still messed up.
