I installed an alpine cd player to my moms Lexus ES300 1997. I used a wiring harness I got from the car stereo store the hook the new stereo to the factory amplifier. I turns on and plays but I am getting some hum in the backround. I also get interference from from the cd player motor and mirror motors etc. there is less noise when using the tuner. I have the same car and I had car toys put a similar car stereo in and they were able to hook it up fine to the factory preamp. I assume its some kind of grounding problem but I dont know where. There are a lot of unused wires from the original head unit. Any ideas. I know a fair amount about electronics but not a whole lot about car stereos.
