What is Wireless Adapter?

I just bought a Linksys Wireless N home router. It says "Wireless networking is not enabled on this computer. This computer does not have an adapter to connect to your network wirelessly."
I cant connect it to my phone(Blackberry) What shall I do? Do I have to buy Wireless Adapter?
