Pregnant with #2! Yay me!
New member
I am in my second trimester of pregnancy and having a difficult time laying on my back and sometimes on my left side.
I don't really know how to describe what is going on . . . but since I want some answers I'm going to try.
During my first pregnancy/labor I had an epidural and during the labor is helped SO much, but afterwards I haven't been quite right. I've had pains anytime I lay flat on my back or lay down without some type of cushion behind my back. The pain from laying down hasn't been anything like it is now though.
When I lay on my side or on my back, my back catches and the pain is so much that it makes breathing difficult. I can sit up or lay differently and the pain subsides, but as soon as I lay down again the way that I was the pain starts back.
I've discussed this with my OBGYN and she says that it may be associated with the epidural or that I might just be having back spasms. She says there isn't much that she can do for me but suggested that I see a message therapist. . . of course that would be nice if my insurance covered it, but it doesn't and I can't afford the treatments out of pocket.
Has anyone had anything similiar?. . . and if so how did you illiminate the pain. It didn't occur in the first trimester, just now in the second, and I'm afraid of how intense it may get going towards my third and I would hate to be bedridden or stuck in the hospital until my pregnancy is over with.
Thanks to everyone for helping.
