what is the valve clearances for an 06 S50?

The manual I just bought is not clear on the clearances. It says that the S50 intake and exhaust are the same.003 to .005, but it says the C50 and M50 are .003 to .005 on the intake and .007 to .009 on the exhaust. I thought the motors were basically the same. So which is correct?:huh:

Go with what it says for the S50, pay no attention to what it says for C50 and M50 clearances.

Check the frame, low on the right side of the bike, there should be a label listing the valve clearance. Intake and exhaust are the same.

The correct valve clearance for your S50 is .003 - .005 on both the exhaust and intake.
The S50 uses a completely different motor from the C50, both just happening to be the same displacement to fit into the 800cc market segment. The M50 uses a modified version of the C50 motor with different crank cases thanks to split crankshaft bearings, and also different rocker shafts which necessitate different cylinder heads and breather covers.
