Mountainous, rocky, arid, and, unyielding.
It has a big diversity,depending on the area.Most of the lands are mountainous(around 80%),and there are also some big plains.0,9 % of total area is water.Western Greece is more rainy than eastern.Also,the further north you go,the more rainy the weather is.The landscape is quite different,depending on previous factors and the elevation.Island's terrain is usually very different from the mainland.To see the diversity,look at these representative pics.

@ Richard Plantagenet,what you described can be only representative of some really small(inhabitable in most cases) southern Aegean islands.I posted the pics mainly to show how inaccurate you are.Please stop spreading your ignorance under every question.It is not bad to keep your mouth closed,if you haven't something correct to say.
