What is the smallest size I can pierce my lip at?

I want a really really thin silver ring in my lip. I found a 22g segment ring (I feel that those are easier to put in, what do you feel? and, it looks better without the ball...) that I like, but I don't know if you can really pierce a lip that small. Can I?
