what is the right age for a kid to have a cellphone?

I'm 13 turning 14 in about 2 months an think I should really need one because I like to things after school like Softball Chorus and Scouts, and sometimes to get a hold of someone to pick me up I need to use the school's phone or another student's phone and yeah and I'm the oldest one in my class while everyone that is younger has a cellphone
