What is the real purpose of our news media?

To publish the unbiased truth regardless of the Nielsen Rating.
To publish the unbiased truth regardless of declining newpaper, TV sales and advertisement?
Or to publish news which are acceptable to the shareholders irregardless whether it is biased or fraudulent.
