My horse had an old scar on the front of her rear fetlock that she broke open recently. I called the vet out, she was sedated and things were cleaned up and she was put on a week of penicillin twice a day. I have been wrapping her everyday for the past month and the wound was healing perfectly, no proud flesh, no oozing, and good color. I decided the wound needed to be unwrapped for a day to try and heal better, and after 24 hours with no wrap (and on stall rest) things have gone south.... the wound is open, bleeding and her leg is swollen about twice the size. I was hoping that someone could tell me if what i did was wrong, and if it was, if there is anything i can do... or even possible answers as to what have happened. i think she broke it open again but i am not sure. any help will be appreciated so much.
