this question was asked in my online geography class and it has officially stumped me. it's not specifically discussed in the book and google doesnt even seem to know the answer! it doesnt really seem like there is an acculturation/ assimilation process that one MUST go through to become legal, atleast i cant find it anywhere. if anyone has any knowledge on the subject, pleease point in the right direction or atleast tell me what im looking for. thanks so much!
