What Is The Problem With My PC Build?

Recently I attempted to build a PC on my own. After putting all the parts together, I managed to booted the computer into Windows. However, it turned out that the video card was not recognized and the internet wont work.

I tried the video card on my other PC and it worked fine. As for the internet all I need to do is to insert the cable from the cable router into the other PC and the internet will connect immediately. But it wont work that way on my new build.

In my opinion though, the issue may be with the motherboard. It is really frustrating that it the manuals from the PSU and the motherboard dont seem to have completely corresponding information. I mean unlike the motherboard in my old manufactured PC, the new one has so many slots and PSU has so many cables and aside from the basic parts such as the power slot, Im totally confused due to the the not very helpful manuals.

So can anyone knowledgeable on this matter suggest a solution for me please? Does the problem lie in the motherboard? But if the mobo is defective then shouldnt it not be able to boot into Windows at all?

Thanks a lot for the help,

it sounds like you need to update the bios. if you are using an Asus board (the failed ethernet driver is symptomatic) you can use their hotflash utility to get the latest bios.

Dont worry, there's no issue wit your motherboard. Try fixing a graphics card, it may work.

Have you install driver for your card?
You tried the video card on your other PC, and it worked fined. What kind of video card do you have? What is the OS of your other PC? If your other PC uses Window Vista or XP, you may not need install driver for your card 'cause window does it for you (if Window supports it).
If the motherboard has problem, I don't think you have it undamaged right now.

What motherboard, graphics card etc.

Chances are you just haven't installed the drivers for either the cable modem or the graphics card onto the PC. Try finding the CDs for both and installing them, then reboot.
