I have an 88 Honda Civic, it sat for a while, but when i started to drive it again, i began to have problems with the gear stick, it was extremely stiff getting into the gears but it still worked.
tonight it was stiff and i used my strength and shoved into park and when i shoved it this time, it became extremely loose, and got into the gears. i was happy that it finally loosened up but then what actually happened, when i moved into Reverse, i hear the reverse beep but it goes forward, i put it into park, same thing only goes forward, neutral same thing. I then realized that when i drove, it was always in L, it doesn't change gear, i have tried moving the gear stick up and down but no luck. Please help me
