The wind tunnel is constructed with an enclosed cubic test section such that the test section is 1.5m x 1.5m x 1.5m. The top, bottom, and side walls of the test section are made out of square steel-reinforced plexiglass panels. The lab area outside the test has pressure Patm=101,325 N/m^2 and density of 1.225 kg/m^3. Can the test section withstand a compressive overall force of 30,000N?
Other Details-
Vi= 15 m/s
Ti= 270K
density= 1.225kg/m^3
Ai= 15m^2
I got that the velocity of the airflow inside the test section should be 100 m/s. Then from that I know I can calculate the pressure inside the test section. I know the pressure inside the test section will be less too. Do I just find the difference between the pressure and sum up remaining pressures pushing on the outside of the box that were not canceled out?
Thanks
