The first book I read by this author had a female secret service agent (ie protects the president) get taken to the future, where because she was a virgin, a warrior, not a scientist (and other qualifications) she was chosen to be trained by an (cute) alien warrior guy about how to use a psy suit. If she mastered the suite she would then have to pass a challenge, and once she did earth would be welcomed into some kind of alien government... who would then give everyone on earth psy suits!
The second one I read was where the artificial intelligence of the ship that the female character in the previous book (no, they are not in series... at least I assume they aren't) ended up creating a body for herself and sleeping with this dude she liked. At the end she got pregnant. I remember the character had alexandrite eyes. oh! in it she ended up saving the world from these robots that were supposed to protect us but thought we were the enemy. no they never attacked, but they were preparing to.
