I barely remember what happens in this movie, but I remember seeing it on TV years and years ago. It was an old movie. I think a woman and her mother either owned or helped run an inn or boarding house-type thing. The woman had dark hair. A man might have come stay but I don't remember for sure if he actually lived there. But he left her a ticket to meet him in California? It might not have been California. But he did leave her a ticket in the bathroom I think? She goes and lives with him in his apartment but her mother comes and the mother and man end up fighting over her. She then runs away and I think its left unclear what happens to her after that. I remember the movie ending with a shot of her sister, I think it was, balancing on train tracks or something like that in a red dress and maybe humming or singing, and that's how it ends. I know this doesn't give much info but does anyone know what movie this is?
