What is the name of this film?

O-k, I saw someone post this on a movie forum for some other site, and when looking at what film they were trying to identify, I became curious, too. The poster did not say much about the film, but I will try to put all the basics:

The animation in the film is similar to the animation from "the Last Unicorn"

There is a girl (or a princess) who has a dream of a giant and wakes up screaming; the girl is under hypnosis and recalls things that have happened at a castle, when she does, a giant comes into view, but all we can see is just his eyes in the dark

It is not "Jack and the Beanstalk" (1974), which features characters, such as Madame Hecuba

I know this is vague, but maybe someone knows, and sorry if it might scare anyone. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance.

It might be "the BFG", but I forgot to relay that the animation is also anime related (though it is similar to the animation of "the Last Unicorn"), and the princess is relaying information to a wizard/magician. This is not one of the "Unico" films, is it?

I have never seen this movie, but if it's loyal to the book, it can't be The BFG. In the book, the BFG steals the girl from an orphanage(?) and takes her to his home (a cave). And she doesn't go against her will, if I recall correctly. The only time in the book that we see a castle is at the end when the giant and the girl go to visit the Queen - and even then, the girl was not under hypnosis.

Well, what else could it be? I know it is not "the BFG" now, but it is similar to anime, so that is why I thought of "Unico", and it is from the early 80's, maybe late 80's. Does anyone know what this could be from given this much info?

Could it be the anime "Jack and the Beanstalk? I am just guessing. The person who originally asked this is not able to remember anything else, but it was sometime in the 80's (early 80's I think), and the princess had blond hair, and as she is relaying information to a wizard. We see a castle and then the face of a giant. As the face comes into view, we notice that it has big red evil eyes, the giant is merely a silhouette in itself. The princess then wakes up screaming. The princess also says something to the extent of "those eyes" before she wakes up. I know this is not much to go on, but maybe someone knows this.

That would make sense. The Last Unicorn was animated by Studio Kraft, which was a Japanese animation studio, which would explain the similarity in the animation style.
