What is the name of this book?

I'm sorry to say, I do not even know the author's name. I heard about this book a while ago, and I forgot about it until now. It's about a girl who meets an angel and finds out that angels are a lot different than she imagined, like some actually own servants and some are royal. Wish I could give more info, but that's all I have. It's probably a longshot, but I really really want to know.
 
Uh... maybe it's "Through A Glass, Darkly" by Jostein Gaarder. But I'm not sure with the info you gave me. Does the girl die in the end? If she does, this may be it.
