...in that one finds enlightenment...? ......vicariously by focusing on the Bodhisattva and making oneself dependent upon HIS grace and ability to have demonstrated perseverance under suffering and reaching enlightenment?
I assume that it is one of the Mahayana traditions but I can't think of the name of the group. (I remember it from grad school because it amazed me how similar it was to Evangelical Protestant Christianity in admitting one's own unworthiness and inability to live properly but putting one's faith in a "savior" was pronounced sufficient and one could thereby achieve everything the savior Bodhisattva achieved in terms of soteriology.)
