What is the name of the game where you build floating islands and fight them?

I remember an old PC game where you build these floating islands, load them up with engines and weapons, and ten fight other islands.

I can't remember the purpose of the game, but I do remember that when you destroyed other islands you got a floating ore from them.

Also at the centre of the island you had a castle that you had to defend.

Any tips would be awesome.
