It turned out at the very end that he didn't commit murder and the woman he was accused of murdering had killed herself and left the tape. The lawyer didnt find it until it was too late. I saw this movie when I was about 12 or 13. So about 5 or 6 years ago.
Dead man walking isn't the movie. It sounds similar but i'm pretty sure the movie was made in 2000 something. Also it turned out the woman who killed herself was dying of cancer and the guy in jail and herself were advocates against the death penalty.
