I work for a Canadian Gsm provider, and a few of us thought it would be funny to carry the oldest and biggest gsm handsets our network would support. We all have blackberry pearls/curves, and it would be refreshing to use something old school. The phone would need to have either 850/1900. I would prefer the phone to have custom ringtones or ones that can be programmed like the nokia 3590. The phone would also need to support sms

Motorola still sells bag phones for people who work in remote areas and need the signal boost. I think they go up to 2 amps. If that isn't old school, I don't know what is. =p

There's also a modernized brick phone out there, but unfortunately it has the dual euro/asia gsm bands only.

What about a Moto brick? Always wanted one, so I can have an extra level of protection while on the street lol

Not sure where you can get it, but ebay should be a good start

Motorola v60g is pretty old school, though probably one of the best phones ever produced. It's really too bad they can't update it with a color screen and some new features while retaining the original design.
