What is the most forgiving bike in the 600cc class?

I was just wondering which bike is better off as far as commuting goes.. I had an SV650 for 7 months and prior to that I had taken the MSF course. I'm not looking for racing or anything like that. I just love the shape of the 600cc's and want to get one and have found a 07 yamaha R6 but I have heard that they are not very forgiving and are best suited for the track. Any advice on that would be greatly appreciated..
