I am wondering what the mileage is that it should be and what to look for to see if it needs replacing.

A serpentine belt isn't generally a "scheduled maintenance" item. Inspect the belt for cracks and glazing. Cracks are normal, but if you have several cracks per inch or the ribs/sides of the belt are damaged then you will need to replace it.

Serpentine belts are so unpredictable. I've some last over 10 years, and others just a few. Check the ribbed part of the belt- if there are many cracks (there will be cracks, but if you spot some that are much deeper and noticeable) have the belt replaced. If there are no issues with the belt, and it looks decent, don't worry about it.
