What is the law regarding cameramen on police programs?

Shows such as Night cops etc frequently show cameramen entering properties behind the police.

I understand that a policeman has the right to enter a premises in the coarse of his or her duties but what about the cameramen.

Surely that is trespass isn't it?
 
If it's your home, you can refuse to allow them to come in. Not the police, just the camera crew. Usually what happens is the people are so busy with whatever the cops are there for, that they don't think to tell the camera guy to get out.
 
well the production group will actually go to the person and ask them if they want to be on tv or not, and they also got permission from the police department in the city, so it's all legit
