what is the largest capacity for a blank dvd?

i want to copy a series onto a blank disc so i can watch it on tv but seem only to fit two episodes on at a time. This isn't much use when there are 25 episodes! I'm using nero and can only find 4.7gb discs, do they come in bigger sizes?
 
Single sided, double layer, 8.5 GB disks are available, but costly compared to the bulk blanks. Before you get them, make sure your drive can burn them and your player can play them. Check for both DVD+R DL and DVD_R DL compatibility.
