Judo is a grappling art that contains no strikes. Karate open hand strikes are correctly already defined as shuto. "Judo chop" is a misnomer caused by westerners trying to describe something that they simply did not understand. It is an uninformed and mistaken description of a shuto strike.

There's no such thing as a "Judo chop". Judo is a grappling art that does not have any strikes whatsoever. The "Judo chop" is something they invented in Hollywood.

There is also no such thing as a "Karate chop". The strikes that is used to describe are properly called "knife hand strikes" or "kitenken" or "shuto" in Japanese.
