What is the history of suicide?

term paper due tomorrow 5 pages I have information on a bunch of different cultures and religions but im still not sure what to use.. I have a page so far the first page is the intro with about 4 or 5 paragraphs about seppuku. So whats the history of suicide I need information with historical dates I know all major religions deal with suicide a different way. What were pagan views ? are there any important dates for pagans, christians, jews, muslim etc etc ? any information will be GREATLY APPRECIATED <3

whether it be depression, warfare or social dependency.

well in my family 4 people have committed it. so it may be a sort of depression that is genetic....
