...louder the noise? So I drive a 2005 Ford F-150 and I just drove about 1000 miles from Texas to Colorado. The whole drive I didn't hear anything and the car drove fine. I parked for a few hours when I got to Colorado and now when I drive there is a high pitched noise that sounds like its coming from the driver's side front wheel area. I got underneath and check to see if there was anything stuck and couldn't find anything. It's not related to the RPM, only my road speed. Like when I put it in neutral and rev the engine you can't hear anything but when I started rolling down a hill the noise will get louder and higher pitched the faster I go. It might be a belt but I'm not sure. If you ask me some more questions I'll try to answer them under additional details... Does anybody have any suggestions on what it might be or what else I should check out before I take it to a mechanic? Thanks for any help!!!

If it's not rpm related it's not a belt. You either got something stuck in the wheel area or it may be a wear indicator for your brakes. I would jack it up and spin the wheel, see if you hear a noise and locate it. Brakes might be getting a little low. Does the noise change when you hit the brakes or is it strictly speed related. Another thing to try is safely swerve back and forth and see if it changes, typically a wheel bearing will growl more than squeal but swerving will make a wheel bearing noise change. This noise seems pretty minor if you can drive around and not notice any other symptoms
Good Luck and God Bless
