what is the groove on the outside of a foot?

i bet no one knows what i am talking about. but you know when people have an arch on the inner side of thier foot? well some people have a groove on the other side, that goes in, like someone bit thier foot. like this picture. the real foot has asmall one, but the pad you buy has a big one. what is that called?
