What is the furry Hunter Hat called from the old days? (Help)?

They used to wear these hats long time ago... It is made of fur and the back has a tail on it.

I think they were a southern thing... Because the guy I'm picturing wearing it was from Tennessee like in the 1800's.

Anyone have an idea?
