What is the fuel cap on a 2003 Ford Expedition?

My truck recently started giving me some problems. Last night while driving the truck turned off by itself and the dash read, fuel cap. Is that the same as a fuel pump or fuel filter or are they all different. I don't want to change something that doesn't need to be changed. But the truck did alert that it is the fuel cap. If it is different does anyone know where its located, and if you have ever changed one, is it difficult? Thanks so much.
But why did my truck turn off by itslelf while i was driving? It also takes a couple of turns of the egnition before it starts up.

fuel cap loose or bad is what its saying check fuel cap thing you turn after pumping fuel is fuel cap can be loose or not fitting right wil get a light

fuel= gasoline or diesel fuel
Cap= device the screws into the filler neck where we fill up the "fuel" tank

Fuel cap... that round thingy you take out and put back in every time you buy fuel

The dash label says "Fuel" because the dashboard part of the factory doesn't care if your truck is gasoline or diesel. So they print "Fuel" on the light label instead of gas or diesel.

if thefuel cap is not correctly replaced into the filler neck, the onboard computer senses and error and lights the dasboard idiot light
