What is the ending to this riddle?! Please answer!!!?

SO the riddle goes like this:

If 4 cars were at a 4-way intersection who would go first?
A) Police Car
B) Ambulance
C) FireTruck
D) Mail Car (You know, to deliver mail and stuff)

SO I know the answer is the Mail Car but I forgot why. My friend told me this joke, but she is in camp so I can't ask her.

Please help, it's killling me!!!
