What is the easiest way to make camp with only a few items?

i think the easiest way is too find two trees that are close and put branches between and against them to make a frame, then put a thermal blanket or tarp over that.. then just make a fire as normal.. and find a location that you can easily see and hear any approaching animal or person(that's why it's sometimes a bad idea to be near running water).. what are everyone else's methods?
 
No idea.

Watch that Bear show on the Discovery channel. I think you don't camp near water and pick a spot that seems the least shtty among the other shtty spots and you are good to go.
