Usually right after pushback or when arriving to the gate, a noise can be heard that sounds like short, repetitive bursts of a drill, and I am curious as to what is causing this noise. I am not talking about the extension/retraction of wing flaps.
The only thing I thought of was that it potentially could be some sort of a locking mechanism for the cargo doors, but I'm not sure...
