Xanax is a Benzo and Soma is a muscle relaxer. Xanax is used as a short acting anxiety medication, as appose to say valium which is also a benzo but last longer. If you are taking both and it works, great, but Valium can and is used for both anxiety and as a muscle relaxer...might help "kill two birRAB with one stone." They are both sedating. I am taking Xanax now which replaced the Valium (was used for anxiety and the muscle relaxing properties); I find Xanax works better and doesn't make me as groggy.
