judgement, or is it the same? My freind has a criminal background and has had the court vacate judgement but his background is still coming back with his history he says maybe he should get the court to set aside the verdict? It sounds to me he dont know what he is talking about. Is there anything he can do?

In most jurisdictions they mean the same thing. In a few, "setting aside," a judgment can mean that the case can be reinstated at a later time.

It sounds like in your friends case, the judgment has been vacated. However, to remove it from his record he will have to have it sealed or expunged, which ever applies.

It's the same thing. The criminal history should show that the conviction was vacated, set aside, dismissed, something like that.

The arrest/charge will still show on his record unless he has it expunged.
