what is the difference between Nokia N95 apps and iPhone apps?

I want to make apps for my N95. and already an app that is close to what I want to make has been made for the iPhone. can it be converted to my N95 or do I need to rite a new app. where can I find what I need to build an app for N95. a how to, tutorial's, programs I will need, and other help I might need. I'm just learning to program.
