i need to put a floor fan outside so that my doggies can keep cool. besides the cord getting wet if it's raining, what is really the difference between an indoor and outdoor fan? the indoor ones are usually a lot cheaper and i plan on bringing it in if i think it's going to rain. So i guess my real question is, can i use an indoor fan safely outside? If not where can i get an inexpensive outdoor one?

The main difference between the outdoor fans and indoor fans is that outdoor fans are usually made of materials such as plastics or resin that can withstand humidity or moisture. They also can be made of woods that do not rot easily or have been treated with a special type of outside coating. Many of these fans are made of metal, but come with a rubber or plastic covering to keep them lasting a long time.
