I am interested about Graphic Arts/Design, but I don't know what's the difference between the two, so I'm confused.

Please answer the following questions:

Can someone explain to me what's the difference between the two?
Which one is better?
How much can a person earn from each job?
Why should I take that job? (I hope you know what I mean)
Give me a convincing reason please.
Is it an in demand job nowadays?
What abilities/talent do I need to have in order to be successful in this course?
What is your opinion on these courses?
What are their pros and cons?

Please I need a serious answer...

not really a big difference if any.

you can make a lot of money doing graphic arts or very little/none money. it depends on your ability.

I imagine its not in high demand right now, seeing as how the economy is is the hole and jobs are down everywhere. especially in fields that are not deemed necessary (food, medical feilds).

you don't need a degree from a college to be a graphic designer. it really comes down to you design ability and the work you have in your portfolio. College is a good place to build a portfolio but, if your good enough to be a professional designer, you would already have portfolio worthy art by the time you got to college.

Traditional graphic arts is dying field. People are not printing anything anymore, its all digital. Interactive media designers are the more relevant off shoot. I have a degree in Interactive media, it deals more with design for digital mediums (ie. internet, tv). anything on a monitor/screen. still with this field, a college degree is not going to get you a design job. your portfolio will.

I am in the medical field now and I feel much more secure. people will always get sick, but people might not always have money to hire someone to make a new logo for their company.
