What is the difference between copyright and print year? Or is there they the same?

Thank you.? I looking to buy some old book but I don't understand the copyright and print year thing. They auction says "Printing Year: 1904" but when I asked to confirm that they told me that "That's the copyright year" So what's the difference? HELP ASAP!
