What is the difference between an empire and a dynasty?

Please explain it so that a 14 year old can understand easily.& What is an example of a dynasty and an empire in ancient china if possible.

An empire is a group of several of what once were independent nations taken over by one larger nation. The leader of that larger nation rules over his own and the others within his empire. A dynasty is a ruling lineage of one family where the title or king or emperor is passed down from generation to generation.
 
a dynasty is a where power is handed down through generations in a family, an empire is a group of countries that are under I ruling power.
 
Empire - A stronger nation dominate a weaker nation.
Ex. Great Britain owned India as one of a colony.

Dynasty - A ruling family that passes on from generation to generation.
Ex. Zhou Dynasty
